Guided Cave Visits with Specially Trained, Knowledgeable Guide

Overview: The Point of Human Origins experience is a journey into humanity’s ancient past.  Evidence contributing to “ourstory” is preserved in the archaeological and geological record at the Pinnacle Point Site Complex.  You will learn about human behaviour, ancient environments, sea levels, food sources, cave formation and fossilisation processes, stone tool technology, and how our early ancestors managed to thrive through their connection with and reliance on nature.  Your visit to Cave PP13B is not a museum experience, but rather a visit to one of humanity’s ancient ancestral homes where Middle Stone Age artefacts are still visible!

Duration: 60 - 90 minutes.

Fitness: The only access to Cave PP13B is via a series of steep wooden stairways and boardwalks (some 200 stairs in each direction). The climb back up can be taxing unless you’re mildly fit.
